People and companies

Observe these guidelines when referring to specific people and companies in our communications:

Names

  • The first reference to a person in a text must use their full name. Later references should utilize the last name only.
  • If two people with the same last name are quoted in a story, use both first and last names to ensure clarity.
  • Do not utilize honorifics, such as “Mr.”, “Mrs.”, “Ms.”, and others.
  • As an exception, first names may be utilized in team articles, personal pieces, and in reference to INFUSE leaders, as this favors an image of accessibility.

Job titles

  • Formal titles should always be displayed in title case, following the nomenclature adopted by the source. For example, when offering details on a guest expert, refer to their LinkedIn for the correct title.
  • Adjectives that attribute a transient status to a title, such as “former,” “interim,” “acting,” etc., must be in lowercase.
  • In body text, particularly if the title grants authority to the information or opinion being expressed, it is preferable to display the title before the name.

Products and companies

While browsing our website, you may notice that several pages feature titles in all caps. However, this is done mostly to convey design hierarchy. As a general rule, our titles should be written in title case, i.e.:
