Imagery

Utilizing images to enrich materials is allowed by the INFUSE Visual Guidelines. However, this usage is limited to three specific themes: nautical/ocean imagery, abstract backgrounds, and office work.

Nautical Imagery

The core theme utilized in our visuals, this category includes elements such as yachts, boats, seashores, waves, the ocean surface, closeups of sailing equipment, and water sports. Except for the latter, ensure no people are visible in the frame.

Abstract Backgrounds

Abstract imagery admitted by the INFUSE Visual Guidelines includes liquid, smooth, and wavy abstractions, always in blue tones. When appropriate for the context, these can be combined with digital elements, such as grids, neurons, networks, and other similar concepts.

Office Work

INFUSE materials may also feature people engaged in office work and related activities. Ensure the subjects are not looking at the camera or deliberately posing for the picture—action must seem spontaneous.

Limited Use

With a few exceptions, an agitated, wavy ocean surface is preferable over a calm, tranquil body of water.
The body of water and the boats themselves should dominate the composition. Avoid images where these elements are obscured, even by other nautical items.
Avoid pictures of the sea featuring bad weather and approaching storms. These, however, are permissible when discussing market complications.

Do Not Use

We do not use images of other types of sea vessel like cruise ships, fishing boats, catamarans, rescue boats, or any other type of military or industrial marine equipment. Nor yachts or sail ships that look cheap, old, broken or dirty. Images of divers, port facilities or offshore construction works are also forbidden.

Choosing the Right Toning and Framing

When utilizing stock photography and other such imagery as backgrounds to slides and other visual assets, make sure to crop and frame the image in a way that avoids conflicts between its elements and those of the asset itself. See the examples below:

❌ While it is allowed to overlay transparent gradients to emphasize or soften certain aspects of the background image, ensure that this toning does not cause the loss of details and colors.

✅ Conversely, this crop simultaneously makes the photograph’s subject clearly distinguishable and resolves the conflict with the overlaid text.
